Part-Time Reading Interventionist

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Part-Time Reading Interventionist who is passionate about helping students become confident readers. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and enthusiastic about supporting diverse learners using multisensory, structured literacy approaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide small-group and one-on-one reading intervention sessions aligned with the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham principles.

  • Implement lesson plans designed to strengthen phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, spelling, and comprehension.

  • Monitor and document student progress and communicate with parents and staff as needed.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development provided by The Little Reading House.

  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment.

  • Support the center’s mission by upholding high professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current Texas Teacher Certification (EC–6, Special Education, Reading Specialist, or related field preferred).

  • Passion for literacy instruction and working with students who have dyslexia or reading difficulties.

  • Patience, reliability, and strong communication skills are essential.

  • Must successfully complete a background check prior to employment.

  • Willingness to learn and implement structured literacy programs (training provided).

  • Flexible availability, including weekends.

  • Punctual, professional, and team-oriented.

Schedule:

  • Part-time, flexible hours (evenings and weekends available).

  • Opportunities for additional hours.

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and certification.
