Parent Directed Special Education Services (PDSES)

The Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) program provides eligible families with a one-time $1,500 online grant to purchase educational resources and services that support their child’s individual learning needs. To qualify, a student must currently be enrolled in a Texas public school in Pre-K through 12th grade, receive special education services through an Individualized Education Program (IEP), and must not have previously received a PDSES grant.

The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program gives eligible Texas families access to state funded education accounts that can be used for approved educational expenses outside of the traditional public school system. The program began with the 2026–2027 school year and is administered by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Families who are accepted into TEFA may use their funds through the TEFA Marketplace for approved educational expenses.

Use Your TEFA Funds at The Little Reading House

The Little Reading House is a participating TEFA service provider. Families with approved TEFA funding may select eligible dyslexia therapy and reading intervention services through the TEFA Marketplace.
